The girls and I made a spur of the moment decision to join my family in San Diego for our annual vacation in Mission Beach. We rent the same gorgeous beach house each September and have fun in the sun. I had given up hope that we would be able to go this year because we are so far away and we were in the process of moving and I knew I would probably have to make the trip without Travis. Staying in a tiny mosquitoy dirty condo in Lihue while our rental house was being prepared for move-in was all the encouragment I needed. I booked flights for the next day and surprised my family in San Diego.
It was a total blast and worth every minute of the hassel and stress of traveling with 2 small kids. (They did remarkably well considering). I was only sorry that we didn't get to see the Parker side of our family and my dear friends in California.
In the rush and huge mess we were in, I left my camera behind. The only pictures I have are these that we had taken of the girls in a photo studio while in Vegas.
I will try to mooch off of my family's pictures and post some of those later.

While we were partying, shopping and having a grand ole time, my sweet hubby and hero moved us into our new house all by himself. It gets better, he got cable, internet, phone - cell and land lines all hooked up, opened a po box for us (we have no mailbox) and UNPACKED! Yes, dishes in the cupboards, clothes in the closet, crib set up, etc. Besides the 5 stitches he had to give himself in his lower lip, he came out of it pretty good.

What a great suprise for your family in California! Your hubby is such a sweetie to move you into the house!! Love the girls pics:)
You're back!!! I missed your blog, but it's bittersweet in a way because it means you & the girls are far far away. :(
Trav is a good guy, even if he does run naked through the mountain of Kuaui.
I'm so glad that you had a great time.
Travis gets the Iron Man Husband of the year award. That is huge for him to get all that done while you were gone.
What a deal! I'm so glad you missed the transition from the old place to the new rental. Travis is a keeper!
The girls are precious! It's nice that you got to spend time with your family in Cali. And what a sweet hubby! --Take care & hugs and kisses to the girls for me.
yay, you're back! and i am so glad you decided to hit San Diego for the family visit. you and the girls deserved a break from mosquitoes.
and how amazing that travis did all that work.
but i want to hear about this running naked through the hills-joke,or for real?!
I was going through withdrawal it had been so long since we had heard from you. Glad it was for a fun reason! Also glad I can look forward to more fun blogs from you now!
What a fun trip. I talked to your hubby while you were gone and it sounded like he was staying quite busy. The pictures of the girls are adorable. I better get some eventually ;)
The girls look adorable! Veda looks so grown up. So great you got to come back to the mainland for a little while. What a fun surprise. I heard the stitches story from my parent's. Travis is so funny. Glad you got a good house warming present though. What is it with Travis and naked stories? So grateful I've never been an eye witness!!
Ok, I'll address the naked comment. (compliments of Carey - thanks sis.)
Carey is training for a half marathon and calls Travis for running advice. She called to ask him about the best running shorts, etc. and he replied that he prefers to run naked. Not true, however, in Redlands he would often run at night in his underwear. :) I hope he doesn't read this.
I'm thinking that any man who would wear a speedo in public also has a lot of public naked stories. I think every Parker has a few. I think it's hilarious! All the cool kids do things in the buff!! ;) Cayman Islands, baby!
