This is my cousin, Porter Ellett. He is an amazing kid and I just have to brag about him for a moment.
When he was really young, he was in an auto accident and lost use of his right arm. About a year ago he had it amputated at the shoulder. What's amazing is how he has dealt with this trial and sees his disability as simply a challenge to do better and be better. Not only has he become a star athlete in baseball AND basketball, but he is the nicest, most humble and genuine kid you've ever met. (and very cute!)
This is a magazine for youth by my church and he was featured on the cover in the February issue. I will try to add the link to the article soon.
This weekend a camera crew from Good Morning America went to his small town in Utah to film him playing basketball in the state championship and to interview him, his teammates, and family. They are flying him and (at his insistence) 4 teammates to NYC and he will be on the Good Morning America show Monday morning. Everyone watch so you can see exactly why I am so proud!

Such a great idea to post about this. Hope you don't mind if I copy you!
Wow! Truly inspirational. Actually, it brought tears and hope as I read this. Thank you for sharing this with us. I guess it hits home since Grant still doesn't have use of his left arm. I always tell Grant that it is possible to golf and play sports again, even if he only can do it with one arm. Your cousin is living proof that you can function and learn to do things well with just one arm. Thank you for sharing this with us. Tell your cousin I see him as a hero -- I seriously have a respect and admiration for people with disabilities, especially those who take it upon themselves and have the courage to overcome challenges and develop their talents despite their disabilties. Wow, I think if I met him I would cry and just want to give him a hug and tell him what a true example and inspiration he is to me and to others.
Speaking of being proud, where's that clipping of -you- in -your- local paper, Kaycee? Her quartet played a concert, and they made it into the paper!
Oh no! I missed it! I loved the news report they did on him a while back and would have loved to see him this morning. Pls let me know if there is a way to see it again.
