Folks - this one is for the grandparents. If you are not a grandparent of my children you might want to spare yourself the boredom and fast forward to the post about our hike.
I try to explain how well Eve is talking but I can never think of an example. Here is some dialogue from our dinner tonight. This is nothing extraordinary or particularly interesting, but just an example of how Eve talks. I think it's pretty good for a barely-two-yr-old.
We are eating Mac and Cheese (a regular when Trav is working)
Eve: "I like my cheese!"
Me: "Is it good?"
Eve: "Uh huh. It's yummy."
I pour myself some water
Eve: "That's yours. This mine" Pointing to her water.
Eve: "okay"
Me: "what's ok?"
Eve: "Veda's ok. She's happy. My kitty cat ok."
(No, we don't have a cat.)
Veda: "Eve's crying."
Eve: "No I not crying. See? I happy."
Eve: "watch mama. You see me?" (she has scooped up a huge spoonful of mac and cheese)
Eve: "Uh Oh! I spilled. "
Me: "it's ok. I'll clean it up."
Eve: "Ok mama. Clean up. Towel."
She is very much an active participant in any conversation we have now. She is so much fun and has such a cute little voice. I just love hearing her talk.

I can hear her little voice saying this. Seriously, my arms ache for little Evie. I was looking at her picture today (the new one on mom's mantle) and I got really sad...
She is a good little talker! Sounds like I need to call and talk to her soon. We missed you guys this weekend too. We kept on talking about how much fun it would be to have everyone there. Love you! PS - The picks of your hike are amazing :)
What a sweet conversation. I miss my boys speaking that way in their wee voices. I'm glad I got it on video to relive these precious moments.
I love that conversation. I cannot wait to hear it for real. That is something you cannot catch on the phone either. I was missing you so I checked on the blog and these amazing pics of your rental. That is as cool as you explained. Tim LOVES it. Love you

Oh, she pulls my heart strings! Love that little one. I can't believe she is such a little talker. I mean...towel??? Honestly! That's a pretty big word and not one you use everyday. We'll have to call so we can actually hear her sweet voice. Merrit has made me read the dialogue three times now. Apparently, this is even more for cousins than grandparents!! She says, "Dear Eve, I love you! P is my favorite letter. I live in Mexico now. A is for Apple Juice. Love, Merrit"
Makes me want to laugh and cry! How I miss that precious Evie! I loved hearing the conversation. Isn't she a great little talker? I'm so glad that you are writing so much of these things down. We grandparents love hearing it. Can't wait to see and hug her--and all of you. Love, Mom
