We drove over a half hour on a BUMPY dirt road to get to this remote beach. It was worth it! On the west side the sun sets in the water (on the east side it sets behind mountains) and we have heard that you haven't really lived until you have experienced a sunset at Polihale beach. It was truly surreal. I felt like we were in a different universe. There were very few people there and I have never seen a more beautiful beach. The white sand went on forever. This is the longest beach on Kauai, over 17 miles. It is hard to get to so it's very private and secluded.

This is where Travis has a weekly appointment with his golf buddies. Not bad ya?

Oh man, this is gorgeous. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it is in real life. Can we go here when I come visit??? I have DREAMS about going somewhere like this and now my little sista lives here!!! Too cool. I miss you - Lylas.
You are making me want to come and visit you... looks dreamy and warm!
Good news...Merrit let us know that when daddy gets back from LA, we are all moving to "Hawatti" with Veda. She also told Trent that his family is moving there too. And, these pictures certainly making that idea very appealing. The idea of finally "really living life" after visiting Polihale beach sounds good. I knew this thing I was doing couldn't be considered "real living". :)
The thought of you in one of your little cars on a bumpy road, is making me laugh. I can just see the girls and Haui being bounced all over the place. :)
Woah Kaycee. I love looking at you blog when I'm at work to make me feel like I'm somewhere better even if it's for a second :) It looks so beautiful there.
Also, swimming classes traumitized me and as well and I didn't really stick with them. Now I wish I would have stuck with them to be a better swimmer. I cam swim ok, but I still plug my nose everytime I go into the water :) They girls will thank you one day!
I have totally been to this beach and the pictures just don't do it justice! It is even more amazing in person!! The horrible drive is totally worth it and I want to go back. I am going to hide in Carey's suitcase K?
breathtaking....
