Friday was Veda's first day of Kindergarten. She is attending a public school one town over. She woke up early and came into my bedroom already dressed with hair brushed and said "I'm ready Mom!"
But we moms cried like babies.

To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.

Oh my gosh! Is she as tall as she looks in that first picture? I love the heart-felt goodbyes to the animals...
We are so proud of you, Veda! (I think they should give all kids red carpets for the 1st day of school...)
I love the red carpet idea as well. I bet they all felt like celebrities for a moment. Just wait Kaycee, once Kindergarten starts, kids seem to grow so much quicker. It seems like I just sent Jonathan to kindergarten and now he is starting 4th grade in a couple of weeks. Cherish the moments!

Already in kindergarten!?! I remember the snuggles and giggles from my little Veda back in Albany. They belong to you for such a short while.
How adorable! Sounds like she's going to do great. I'm proud of both of you for surviving such a milestone day!!
Veda is too cute. Did you send her to school with the hair-do she did or yours? Matthew starts kindergarten in a few weeks. I don't think I'm going to cry though. You're too nice. You're house/land/kids are all amazingly beautiful. So Lucky!! Finish your book and then we can talk vampires. Aren't we dumb.
My little V is getting so big. That sounds like a great day. I'm sure she loved it and already has tons of friends. We miss you guys.
